Nawlins'

Wow, what a weekend is all I have to say! If you know me at all you know I LOVE sports and everything about them. I had an amazing time and got to meet some amazing people. I will go day by day and tell you what we did and who we saw and all that good stuff.

Friday 2/1/13
I woke up at 4:00 AM to get ready to head to Memphis and catch the Amtrak train. We left Wynne, AR, where I live, at 5:15 AM and arrived in Memphis at about 6:15. I’ve ridden the train before but never by myself so I was very anxious. I got all my stuff settled on the train and I was kind of bummed that I had to sit by someone but it ended up being fine. We talked about sports the whole time, haha. AND my mom ended up coming to the train station to see me before I left, what a surprise! The train left at 6:50 AM and we were on our way. Okay, this was a long train ride. (7 hours). I didn't get to Hammond, LA until about 2:00 PM.
Once I got to Hammond, my aunt and uncle were waiting on me and we went to eat at Panera Bread. Friday night, I got to go to my first Mardi Gras parade. Ahh, it was so much fun! I got some beads, cups, a teddy bear, and a football! It was awesome! My aunt held a sign that was pointing to me that said “My 1st Mardi Gras Parade”.  Ssshhh… that got me more beads. ;)

Saturday 2/2/13
Me, my aunt  and uncle woke up early and headed down to New Orleans!!! We rode the street car (trolley) to downtown New Orleans. When we first got off the streetcar we immediately saw Cris Carter! C’mon mannnn! It was so cool seeing him right before he got into the Hall Of Fame later that day. We ate lunch at New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood! Delicious! We went to listen to some music by the river. After that we got to go to the CNN Bleacher Report! & Yes here is a picture of me on TV!It was awesome!! We ended the night with dinner at WOW Wings! It was an awesome day to spend my last day as a teenager :)

We went to lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. I got very embarrassed when they took me up on stage and announced that it was birthday and I got a birthday shoutout from the whole restaurant!! Then we went to watch the 610 stompers that were performing right off of Burboun Street. After that we headed back to Mandeville where my aunt and uncle live to get ready for the game! Catching Up!

Hey y'all!!!
It has been a long time since I have blogged! Please forgive me! I have been very busy with school!

Here is an update on my life!

In May, I signed up to run the St. Jude half marathon! I was thinking oh this will be easy! I was SO wrong. Training was very difficult because I had very little motivation to run and I was just being lazy. I would run 5 miles here and there but I never got up to 10 or 11 miles like I was supposed to before race day. Race day came very quickly and I was so nervous!! The race began and I was doing good until mile 9. A horrible pain starting going through my legs. It was something I have never felt before. I walked most of the last 4 miles. Thankfully my running partner, Sydney Warren, was right there with me the whole race! I could not of made it without her!! Guess what! I finished and I felt so accomplished! I just ran/walked 13.1 miles!!! I was so overcome with emotion when I crossed the finish line. My mom was right there cheering me on and says "don't cry now." I finished with a time of 3:39:52. I was super proud of that! I know Nick was looking down on Team Nick that day!!! What an awesome experience! I look forward to doing the race again next year!

My sister and I after the race!

Woo Hoo!! I did it!!

I'm finally finished with school for the semester! It was a very stressful semester and I am so glad that it is over for a month or so! I finished with 3 B's and 1 C. Not too bad for a student like me! Next semester will be my last semester at EACC then I will be going back to UCA. Yay! I'm so excited to be going back and getting to hang out with my friends!! That school has my heart! I also declared my major as Marketing. I feel like this is the right thing that I need to be doing! I can't wait to work for the Arkansas Razorbacks one day!

Since I have been home for Christmas Break, I have been reunited with all of my best friends. It has been awesome! We all hang out all the time and have so much fun! I am so glad that college has not changed any of our friendships! I also know my mom and dad have missed me and Kelsey being at home! They won't stop saying "When is it time for y'all to go back to school?" hahah ;)

Thanks for reading! I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Until next time,

Newbie!

Okay so i'm new to this whole blogging thing so let's see how this goes!

Here is a little update on my life!

About 3 weeks ago I moved into my grandparents house in Wynne, AR! I got my room all decorated like I wanted it and might I say that it looks fabulous! It is a great home away from home! My grandparents are such a blessing that I have in my life.

I started school last Monday at East Arkansas Community College! It was a huge change from UCA but I am getting used to it & it is starting to grow on me! Now this school is very country, redneck, etc. Whatever you want to call it. But it is good & I have no reason to complain.

Lastly, a couple weeks ago I go to visit my friends in Conway. These people have been a huge blessing in my life. My best friends, Jovi and Casey, were gracious enough to let me stay in the dorm with them while I visited! I got to see so many friends that I have missed so much. Too many names to list! It breaks my heart that I am not there with everyone having the time of my life but I know that God has placed me in the perfect place! I told them that I would visit them once a month and I haven't broken my word yet!

Well I hope that you have enjoyed reading my first blog! I hope to blog again very soon!

God is good all the time, all the time God is good. :)
